Prevent.Zone by AliveTek Celebrates a Decade of eLearning Prevention Education

Clearwater, FL, July 10, 2024 —Prevent.Zone by AliveTek, Inc. announces its 10-year anniversary of providing online eLearning prevention education, an effort that began with the unification of the schools within Florida’s State University System to deliver highly engaging, customized hazing prevention education to help prevent avoidable tragedies among college students.

Since then, Prevent.Zone has provided its evidence-based, high quality, award-winning prevention education to more than a million students. Its suite of eLearning courses utilizes best practices in awareness and prevention for students to stay safe and prevent harm.

“Because of our partnership with AliveTek, we are able to expand our outreach to more students and prevention professionals than ever before,” says Todd Shelton, Executive Director of Hazing Prevention Network.

The Prevent.Zone model relies on key partnerships that marry prevention expertise with AliveTek’s eLearning expertise. For example, paired with the Hazing Prevention Network, AliveTek delivers Hazing Prevention: It’s Everyone’s Responsibility™, to hundreds of thousands of students each year.

“It has been a very successful 10-year partnership,” said Kerry P. Welch, Ed.D., Associate Vice President of Student Success & Well-Being, University of Central Florida. “Thank you for your continued efforts to produce an effective tool for hazing prevention in Florida.”

Since 2014, Prevent.Zone programming has grown to cover the most critical topics that affect college students today, including Alcohol & Other Drugs Awareness, Sexual Violence Prevention, Fire Safety, Brave & Bold Dialogues, Health & Wellness, and Human Trafficking awareness & prevention. “Too often, we hear about alcohol & drugs and sexual violence in connection with hazing incidents,” said Luke Davis, AliveTek COO. “This unfortunate reality has fueled our efforts to provide a more comprehensive approach to prevention education overall. Parents should never receive word that something terrible has happened to their child that could have been prevented.”

“I could not be more proud of what we’ve accomplished over this past decade to raise awareness and help prevent needless tragedy among young people,” said Sandy Mills-Alford, President and CEO of AliveTek, Inc. “We are thankful to all of our partners, our expert contributors, and especially to the student affairs professionals who rely on us to develop the most up-to-date programming.”

Most recently, the company’s growth includes new technology solutions for reporting, sharing and analyzing data so prevention professionals are data-informed. As well, the catalog of courses is constantly expanding as more colleges, universities and national organizations utilize program offerings such as Decisions™ Alcohol & Other Drugs and Cultivating Awareness & Prevention of Sexual Violence. Prevent.Zone programming allows for the customization of content to include client organizations’ policies, resources, and local/state laws for a personalized learning experience.
